Unsizing Paper

Last week I sized a lot of paper using my standard size (gelatin + alum), but
I used paint roller to roll on the gelatin. It looks reasonably smooth
(though I did notice bubbles) so I didn't even the coat (I normally either
use a brush to smooth it or pull the paper over the side of a tray). When I
test them for gum print, the paper clears but there are blotches and spots
all over the highlight area.

Since I have sized quite a few sheets, I am wondering if there is anyway I
can unsize the paper and redo the whole thing. Will it work if I soak the
paper in hot water (say near boiling)?

Thanks in advance!
