Hello James,
I too have been having a problem of sorts... I have
repeatedly asked Martin for information on Phil
Robbins featured in his earlier book, to no avail.
Although I have not become militant about it, it has
been at least 18 months since I began asking! I am
sure Martin is very busy with his shop, his writing
and his personal life...aren't we all? But then again,
a simple form letter stating, in essence, 'I am too
busy to help ya now!' would be better than ignoring
than knock on the door.
Perhaps Mr. Martin does not want me to contact Phil
Robbins...that thought has crossed my mind...still,
hard as it may be, a simple "I regret to inform you
that I am not able to comply with your request at the
present time" would at least be...forthright. As far
as I know, "Phil Robbins" might be a fictitious
character. All I want to do is confirm the origin of
some of the material in Martin's book. (Non-original
material which looks like it should have mentioned
Kodak's name on it- but doesn't!) and engage in some
comradery with a person of similar interests. (On the
other hand, I could have been a collector interested
in purchasing some of his Phil's work.) Actually, my
interests here are irrelevant... the point is that
Martin should have made an attempt to answer a
reasonable request. And so far, he hasn't.
But then we come full circle, perhaps he is just
really busy & behind schedule, now this is something I
can understand! (Martin, if you are listening, if you
need help, I am desperately looking for work...!)
So in conclusion, James, You are not the only one who
has been waiting on communication from that side 'of
the pond', as he put it.
Lets just hope that we don't croak before we see the
waddle.
Ray
(by the way, perhaps you are a bit too worried about
sending credit card information over the
system...after all if you were after someone's money,
I doubt you would go to silverprint to monitor minor
transactions such as yours. Why nibble on minnows when
you could feast on bass, trout and tuna? Excuse me
for this irresponsible statement- I have no credit
cards.)
