<<You can order the paper from Jon Purcell, 15 Rumsey Road, London, SW9 OTR.
Telephone: 44 (0) 207 737 5199. A small paper maker in France makes the
Paper and you would need to make an arrangement with Jon Purcell and
negotiate a minimum order and then he will sell the rest. Maybe 150 to 200
sheets (a guess). I spoke to them earlier this year about getting a batch
made, however, I had problems clearing the paper for the develop out pt/pd.,
so I did not pursue this. It is expensive, however I think if you are making
a large enough order to warrant a new batch being made then I believe the
price would be lower than the £5 to £6 a sheet that it was sold for in the
shops. Since it is a handmade paper the cost is higher than a machine
mould made paper. If you contact Mike Ware he may have some sheets left, he
sold me a sheet earlier this year for £5. I am sure someone on the list must
have his email address.
It is a beautiful paper and the person who makes the paper is a very fine
paper maker who was based in England and moved to France some years ago. I
once visited his paper mill and his papers are exquisite. Jon Purcell is his
distributor.
Best wishes

Hi Amanda. Its nice to know that you are still on the list and labouring in
the salt mines at Canary Wharf - or is it platinum and gelatin mines? I
think Martin and I still owe you lunch.
Heres an update for all on Buxton to add to the info you gave
The supply chain is a bit complicated. There is a new batch on the market so
no need to buy from Mike or to lay it down like fine wine. Purcell and
Silverprint share the market. Purcell tend to sell only mill packs -i.e. 100
or120 sheets and refer orders for small quantities like 10 sheets to
Silverprint, who tend to sell it in UK as it is expensive to ship it
overseas. On the other hand you may have a better deal with Purcell.
Falkiners now say they don't stock it.
You may also like to contact Jan at JoV Paper in Limehouse ( address and
phone number in Spirits of Salts but I am not sure if he is on e-mail.) He
stocks 19th century paper of all sorts as well as stuff such as Barcham
Green.This mill is now closed.
Which reminds me when I was in the Western Isles of Scotland the other
year. The man who owned the local art shop had a stock of Barcham Green paper
but would only sell it to you if he liked the look of you. He sold me 5
sheets but that was probably because I was wearing a false beard.
As for Buxton I find the colour it gives to pd is magic. ( Potass. citrate
dev and phosphoric acid for clearing.)Better than Fabriano Roma. Certainly
better than Arches Platine.
I can't comment on Judy's experience using it for gum and I am too lazy to
experiment. You both specialise whereas I am not a reliable source as I
don't specialise apart that is from B&W silver gelatin.
Kind Regards
Randall Webb
