Hello Jason,

The film i use for making internegs is AFGA GO 210 P.
This is a variable contrast film. It is possible to ajust contrast by use of
blue or yellow filters. Blue give s soft and yellow gives hard negs. You
develop in plain paper developer. I use it for argyrotypes, cyanotypes and
occasionally chrysotypes.

i usually only use the yellow filter to make negs because these have to be
rather hard. I can get enough contrast with is to obtain good results.

The problem is these films ar rather expencive and in the near future
production will be discontinud. In the future i will have to look for ways
to make digital negs.
Altough i am sorry about loosing another handscraft in the process of
alternative printmaking i do find that making negs in daylight behind a PC
with a cup of koffie nearby seem atractive. Making internegatives is a
painstaking precise work. I have tried making internegs from black and white
positives that i made myself with a tetanal kit. This works great. It gives
very beatiful slides and because the contrast is 1:1 you can make internegs
with enoug contrast very easely. But there is also the problem (somone else
mantioned this earlyer) that making prints from the black and white slides
is a problem. You do have the advantage of just one copying step intead of
two when using a negative.

Since this is the only film i have ever used i cannot give a comprison to
another film but probably somone els in this group can.

Maybe they have a good alternative to this film.

Greetings
Gerard de Vrueh

I was wondering if anyone has tried using this Maco product to make enlarged
negatives? If so I would welcome any comments on it. It is basically photo
paper on a 100mg transparent polyester base that can be processed as normal
b+w paper.
Also does anyone else know/recommend another manufacturer for making one
step enlarged negs? These will mainly be for cyano's, salt and Kallitypes
prints and was wondering if I will be able to get a good range of tones.

Jason
