Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with this. I am having a difficult time
getting rich blacks in the image area. The black outside the film area is
beautiful! No matter how much time I give to the exposure the image area
never achieves a rich black. In fat it seems that the longer I go all that
happens is the highlights and mid-tones get darker and eventually I lose all
separation in the tonal scale. Could this be due to the light yellow/brown
"stain" that covers the film from edge to edge? It's typical of 665 to have
a bit of discoloration. If this is the case and it is preventing me from
getting rich blacks, what can I do to "bleach" out the "stain/fog" on the
film? Can there be any other explanation? I really can't think of any.

On a separate note has anyone noticed that moiré from the glass touching the
negative in the contact frame makes darker areas on the final platinum
print? I have a solution but would like to hear of any others!

Please help.

Thanks

John
