There are posts in the archive on this subject.
While, as Ken Nelson has pointed out, there are more persons alive who have
climbed Mt Everest than are making daguerreotypes today, there are a few on
this list who either have made them (and wish to make more), or who are
actively working with the process.
I suggest you get in touch with the George Eastman House and inquire about
taking one of the classes they are give on this and other "historic"
processes. They are excellent, hands-on classes complete with an extensive
handbook/working notes, bibliographies, resource guides and the all
important networking with other like-minded individuals.
