Well Tony . . sounds like you are now under control.
I'm still puzzled by the orange mask still on your film and agree that
either through adding a bit of blank orange film mask from a color neg or
subtracting a lot yellow/magenta in the enlarger one needs that masking to
prevent leuko dye formation that messes with they cyan.
If you want some more odd slides, try buying the Kodak Infra-red color film
and doing the same thing with it. Use a #25 red filter for best results but
a #11 yellow will very much create off base colors.
