A student brought in a photo book by the actor Richard Gere today. Entitled
Pilgrim, it contains photos of Tibeten monks, monestaries etc. At first I
thought "Oh no, not another book by a rich white guy showing us how third
world those folks in Asia are". Upon further inspection however I
discovered that the photos are actually quite nice. Gere presents the
culture with respect and dignity.
The prints seem to be pt or pd. Thye are well printed and have an old
fashion look and tone that reminds me a little of Luara Gilpin's work.
There are notes at the back of the book regarding each photo (where, when,
who etc.) but no mention is made of the technical details.
Does anyone know who printed these photos?
