I spoke with Winsor and Newton last year about their watercolor line in
relationship to gum printing.

They're not familiar with gum printing so they won't be able to answer
questions about gum. The artist/contact person about their watercolor
paints was quite knowledgeable about the paints though.

Linel is a subsidiary of Winsor and Newton. From memory, I think she
told me that WN artist water colors have a higher concentration of
pigment. Linel is lightly lower.

You can obtain a WN chip chart by contacting them. I called them
(they're located in NJ) and they graciously sent me two, one for my
personal use and one for my instructor. I have forgotten their phone #,
but if you go to their webpage (again memory escapes me, but I think
it's winsorandnewton.com or winsornewton.com -- a search in google or
metacrawler will resolve this). I think that they're in either the 609
or 732 area code (probably the latter).
