John,
Does the printer have a lot of miles on it? The 3000's have ink wells that
hold overflow from clean cycles and such. The printer counts clean cycles
and other things I'm sure, but at some point it decides the ink wells need
to be emptied and a trip to an Epson service center is needed to reset it.
Hope your solution is simpler than that.
Larry

Subject: Epson 3000--MayDay!
Greetings all—
I am in fairly desperate travail over a new problem with my Epson 3000. If
any of you out there have experienced something similar, I would appreciate
any info you can provide.
Here are the symptoms:
I switched out cartridges with a thorough flushing in between—something I’ve
done numerous times. This time, however, when I started her back up, all the
panel lights came on (flashing, with the exception of the Ink Out lights,
which remained constant). Several repetitions of off/on (including pulling
the power chord for a lengthy interval) had the same results. If I hold down
the Pause button for 5 seconds, all the lights go off except the Operate
light which blinks, but with no action in the printer—AND if I attempt to
turn it off, I can’t. Even with the switch disengaged, the light continues
to flash.
I called Epson, of course. The recommended the reset sequence, which has no
affect whatsoever.
Have any of you ever experienced this behavior from an Epson 3000? Any
suggestions?
I would be most appreciative of any help.
Thanks,
John Campbell
