Hi all,
I will make my exposure unit and found the following tubes available in
my area (Istanbul, Turkey):
1) Philips 'TL' 20W /05 (UV-A radiation 2.8 W, useful life 3000h)
2) Philips 'TL'K 40W /05 (UV-A radiation 7.0 W, useful life 2000h)
These tubes are 'actinic' (UV output characteristics similar to BL
tubes: 300nm - 460nm, peaks @ 365nm). I opt to make my exposure unit
using the 40W tubes because its UV-A output is 2.5x times the output of
the 20W tubes. I plan to make cyanotypes, salter paper prints and gum
dichromate prints with this unit...
What do you think; will these tubes work for my needs? Will my exposures
be 2.5x times shorter with 40W tubes? May I have your comments?
Regards,
Loris.
